Laser surgery involves bursts of high intensity lasers attacking the tattoo pigment. This is known to be more painful than getting the actual tattoo done and lasts in 10-30 minute sessions which are spread widely over weeks and months depending on the size of your tattoo.

Dermabrasion involves "sanding down" on the tatted area on the skin to remove the unwanted ink.

Both of these surgeries can leave you with scarring and the risk of having the skin grow back lighter or darker than the surrounding areas.
